The build quality seems good at first but the zippers on these break very easily.

When my first one broke, I bought another one because I like the feel and the number of pockets...Wore the first out and my next will be the same. I've had this laptop bag since 2006. In that time I've used and abused it in ever way imaginable. I dj and use this as a dedicated laptop back and also jam it packed with... My husband needed a new computer work bag and said "I only want SwissGear". After transferring over the contents from his old bag, he is VERY HAPPY with this new one! Third one so far, probably going to keep on using them. This is a great book bag. We love Swiss gear products. It easily accommodates my 15.6" laptop computer with the extended battery pack and a mini nano sticking out of a USB port on the side. gregory inertia backpackIt is easier than a briefcase to navigate through international airports due to the extra handle that fits nicely onto a wheeled suitcase and I have had no problem storing it in overhead bins or under seats on airplanes. clc backpack warrantyFolders and notebooks store easily and are readily accessible. It does have a readily accessible internal pocket for a passport and electronic devices (i.e., GPS, ipod, etc.) also store easily into this backpack and all are well protected. The only minor negative is that I would have liked more zippered internal compartments and a better accommodation of pens, pencils, business cards, and common business supplies.

Regarding durability, I have not had the backpack long enough to comment but I have Vitronox/Swiss made luggage that has held up very well even with having to check it with the airlines so I expect nothing less from this back pack. My HP 17" notebook stuck about 1.5 inches above the protective material, with the top edge of the computer, and especially the corners, pressing against the zipper when the compartment was zipped shut. I have traveled across the States and to Europe twice a year for almost 20 years. This computer would not be protected from the many "hazards" that are part of a normal trip. Such as rolling top first off of a car seat onto the floor when the car needed to make a sudden stop; being pushed off a conveyor belt during airport security check; slipping off my shoulder when bumped in congested areas; having to be checked at the gate because the small plane was full and watching baggage workers tossing it onto a cart, etc. The Targus sold by HP is a perfect fit.

The SwissGear is well made, but not for a 17" monitor. After a short delay due to being out of stock, I ordered this backpack. After I received it and started loading my laptop, pen tablet, external hard drive, embroidery card reader, and all the related accessories and power cords, I loved it all over again! Everything is all in one nice neat package. I even have room for my planner, a notebook, and a healthy snack! (Sorry, there's not enough room for the kitchen sink, but pretty close!) My nephew, a computer technologist at a major company, told me "You'd better watch your backpack carefully! I might have to steal it! It's my dream backpack!" Made me feel like I'd hit the jackpot! My old wheeled bag was not convenient and my right arm was getting longer than my left carrying my other bag. This backpack style bag meets my needs as it is large enough to carry all my stuff and still is comfortable to carry.

I cover many large hospitals and Universities in multiple states so I do a lot of walking with my equipment. This bag is fantastic as it has room tor carry and keep everything organized. The exterior design, materials, zippers, straps and carry handle are easy care, durable, comfortable and good looking. Well i bought this laptop about a month back, have been using it since then, no problems so far, very stylish, big with alot of space, use it to carry my laptop and books to library and back, also traveled around the world with a lot of stuff in it, its very strong and did not give any problems so far
