Parent involvement means the participation of parents is on-going, two-way, and provides meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities.  Users can view the entire survey in English or Spanish. Parents without computer access may complete a survey at their child’s school or at the Title I Office located at 306 NW 7 Ave. in Ocala. Surveys are also available on the Parent Portal website. All surveys must be completed by January 31, 2017. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from tutoring. The before school session is held from 8:00AM - 9:00 AM. The after school session is held from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM. You may also have your child pick up an invitation at school. If you are interested in volunteering your time at Lake Weir Middle we ask that  you please fill out volunteer application and attach a copy of your drivers license. Homework Help Center (HHC) is open from 2:15-3:30pm every Tuesday and Thursday unless otherwise specified. Students use HHC for studying, completing assignments, and for tutoring/assistance from content teachers who staff it. We also have a volunteer who helps out with all levels of math. These materials are being donated to the local Salvation Army. Each year the UW Seattle Black Student Union acknowledges 10 high-achieving Black high school seniors for community and/or school involvement, academic excellence and exhibiting overall Black excellence.

The selected 10 seniors will be honored at a formal celebration, get an opportunity to meet with students, learn more about being black at UW, and more! You can nominate yourself! The first annual Interhigh School District Social will be held on Thursday, January 26th, the last day of finals, at Hazen High School, from 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm. This event is open to all Renton School District high school students. There will be a dance, movies, video games, and an open gym. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 11th, and will be $5 with ASB and $7 without, until January 18th, when the price will go up. Get your tickets during lunch or after school! Earn two hours volunteering on Saturday January 21st from 10am to Noon at Skyway Park, hauling and spreading mulch to protect new plants at an event sponsored by the West Hill and King County Parks. All ages and skill levels welcome. All tools, gloves & instruction will be provided.

Students Daley Krantz, Ronzell Danao, and Kayla Apostol are hosting a Stuffed Animal Drive right here at Renton High. These stuffed animals will be donated to local police departments for children in emergencies. Any new or gently used stuffed animals will be accepted and should be donated to Ms. DiAsio’s room 164 until January 20th. The Skyway and Downtown Renton libraries have a volunteer teen bank that you can sign up for online. The library will follow-up with you regarding volunteer opportunities that may interest you.
