The vampire genre has an extension that fills the world with tons of fables, legends, and stories based on said genres. As one of the oldest story tellings in the world, vampires have been recognized as some of the most memorable species to ever be known, whether it's true or not. Some of the best interpretations of vampires I have ever seen has been in anime. Of course, this is due to the extent of how anime has no limitations of what it can imagine and present to us fans. Which is why we have decided to compile a list of some of the best vampire anime enjoyed by everyone. I can honestly say, there will be at least two series in this selection that people will love.I also hope this list introduces new anime to others who may not have seen them, because, they're worth checking out. So without further ado, here are the “Top 10 Vampire Anime” selections.10. Princess Resurrection (Kaibutsu Oujo) Episodes: 25Aired: Apr. 13th, 2007 - Sept. 28th, 2007 The story of Princess Resurrection begins when Hiro Hiyorimi attempts to save someone in need, but ultimately dies during the process as a hero, at least.

Surprisingly, the girl who died with him, Hime, is the daughter of the Monster King. And for his efforts of trying to save is child, Hiro is rewarded to return back to the living.Although, he isn't quite like he used to be, he returns as a soldier in Hime's honor guard of horror. Hiro's new position in life, if you can call it that, is to help fight off the army of supernatural beings. Coincidentally, they just happen to be Hime's siblings who are rivaling against in order to move up the ranks.This begins the wild and intriguing story of were-sharks, pandas, killer dumplings, and most importantly, vampires. 9. Trinity Blood Episodes: 24Aired: Apr. 29th, 2005 - Oct. 28th, 2005 Trinity Blood is a favorite amongst many. Trinity Blood begins in a desolate world of destruction after the events of an Armageddon. A war between vampires and humans is taking place, and in order for the human race to survive, they have to count on other allies for help.The Vatican plays a strong part in this series, with the help of a crusnik, they inch closer and closer to peace.

Abel Nightroad, is such a crusnik, a vampire who drinks the blood of other vampires, and is a member of the “AX” special ops group lead by the Cardinal Catherine Sforza. Although, Abel's twin, Cain, seeks to lead the vampire army to victory in ruling the world. It's up to Abel and the AX to stop them. 8. Blood Lad Episodes: 10Aired: Jul. 8th, 2013 - Sept. 9th, 2013 Blood Lad is about a vampire boss named Staz, who is boss of a section to the demon world, but is more interested in Japanese culture. This begins the story of Yanagi Fuyumi, who accidentally wanders in the demon city overseen by Staz.In attempt to intervene Fuyumi, Staz is forced to deal with another unwanted presence first, and in doing so, Fuyumi is killed by another monster and becomes a wandering ghost in the demon city.Having a fondness for the living and the Japanese culture, Staz devotes his life in finding a way to bring Fuyumi back to the world of the living. 7. Chibi Vampire Karin (Karin) Episodes: 24Aired: Nov. 3rd, 2005 - May 11th, 2006 Chibi Vampire Karin is about Maaka Karin, who comes from a family of vampires who live in Japan.

Compared to other vampires, Karin is not normal. Other vampires drink the blood of their victims in order to survive.But karin on the other hand, suffers from a rare condition that causes Karin's body to produce large amounts of blood on her own. The only way to extract the excessive amounts of blood from her body is to donate it to her victims.Interesting.Despite her condition, Karin is still able to attend school with everyone else her age. That's until a transfer student is enrolled in her class, causing her to produce even more amounts of blood due to his presence. The most interesting thing is, he somehow discovers Karin's true nature! 6. Shiki Episodes: 22Aired: Jul. 9th, 2010 - Dec. 31st. 2010 Shiki takes place in the 1990’s, in a normal and quiet Japanese village called Sotoba. Mysterious murders spread throughout the village when a strange and weird family moves into an abandoned mansion. One doctor, Toshio Ozaki, suspects an epidemic and investigates as dead bodies begin to pile up.

He is convinced when he learns that this may be the works of the “Shiki”, a vampire-like creature that plagues the village. All hell begins to break loose when the villagers discover their loved ones' corpses are rising from the grave with the thirst for blood. This is when a young man named Natsuno, is pursued and surrounded by death and from the start, never wanted to live in the village to begin with. 5. Vampire Knight Episodes: 13Aired: Apr. 8th, 2008 - Jul. 1st. 2008 In Vampire Knight, there is a boarding school of elite and yet separate class at the Cross Academy, the Day classes and the Night classes. In reality, characters Yuuki Cross and Zero Kiryuu are the prefects of the academy who attempt to bring order between the students when classes switch from Day to Night.The Night class is filled with gorgeous elite vampires that Yuuki and Zero must protect from the ignorance of the Day class. With complicated situations arising that threatens the Night class and the protectors, can vampires coexist with humans at the Cross Academy and their strict rules?

You'll have to watch it to find out. 4. Blood+ (Blood Plus) [information episodes=" 50 " aired=" Oct. 8th, 2005 - Sept. 23rd, 2006 "] Blood+ has to be a fan favorite as one of the best vampire series out there. The series takes place during a time where war is raging on that continues to leave its mark on history, even extending into the modern world.Two major groups are involved in this war, monsters known as Chiropterans who can alter their appearance in the form of a human, and the Red Shield. The Red Shield is an organization that tracks down the Chiropterans and exterminates them.This begins the life of Otonashi Saya, a high school student whose past life is replaced by a peaceful one. That all changes from an event that triggers her past and leads her to her destined fate. 3. Vampire Hunter D (Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust) (2000) Episodes:Aired: Aug. 25th, 2000 The Vampire Hunter D film is one of my favorites. The story follows D, an infamous creature born of a vampire father and human mother known as a “dunpeal”.

D is an outcast and renowned vampire hunter, with skills for hunting the creatures of the night that is accepted amongst humans. D is summoned one day to locate Charlotte Elbourne who has been kidnapped from a wealthy family. The sad ting is, the father wants her back either dead or alive? Which D accepts, along with others who are bounty hunters seeking the same prize.However, there is a sinister evil that influences the hunters ever move which turns the table from them being the hunter, to the hunted. 2. Bakemonogatari Episodes: 15Aired: Jul. 3rd, 2009 - Jun. 25th, 2010 The story of the Monogatari series centers around character Koyomi Araragi who is a third year student and survivor of a vampire attack. Soon after, he finds himself involved with all kinds of spiritual beings like ghosts, apparitions, gods, and mythological beasts.Most heroes in this anime have items which symbolize their spectres, such as a stapler (claw of a crab), a backpack (shell of a snail), or hat and jacket (head and skin of a snake).

To be quite honest with everyone, the whole Mongatari franchise is great to watch, with all of them having vampire elements present. 1. Hellsing Episodes: 13Aired: Oct. 11th, 2001 - Jan. 17th, 2002 Hellsing follows the story of a vampire named, Alucard, and a police woman turned vampire who works for an organization that is known as Hellsing, a vampire extermination group of England.Alucard’s sole purpose is to search and destroy the threat of the undead and supernatural forces that seek to eliminate the Queen and the country of England. It is when the organization discovers the remnants of a Neo-Nazi group known as the Millennium, continues to exist in reviving the Third Reich with an army of vampires.Little do they know that he war raging on is to seek revenge on Alucard from the very beginning!
