The Formby woman who swapped weddings for wanderlust after being ditched at the altar is releasing her third book in eight months. 31-year-old Katy Collins hit headlines around the world when, after being dumped before her wedding day, she quit her successful job, sold her house and her car and booked a one-way ticket to south east Asia. Refusing to be bogged down by her experience, she then spent time backpacking across Thailand, India, Nepal before taking a new job teaching in a small fishing village near Paris. The former Southport College student secured a book deal loosely based on her travels, the Lonely Hearts Travel Club. The books follow the ups and downs of Georgia Green, who buys a one-way ticket to the Far East after her fiance ditches her and confesses to an affair. The first book in the fictional series, Destination Thailand, was among January’s bestsellers, while book two, Destination India, released in June, rocketed to number three in the iTunes chart. It was also named one of Google Play books of the month and landed a chart spots in supermarkets around the country.
