On the Blog: Mt. Hood Highlights On the Blog: OUR NEW NATIONAL MONUMENTIt’s hard to walk through the Portland airport and not marvel at the crazy carpet, already memorialized on Instagram and even a pair of KEEN shoes. Now the 70’s throwback pattern is on bags, too. The designers at Blaqpaks had the iconic carpet pattern printed on Cordura and set about crafting bags from it. The packs come in shapes and sizes ranging from a zipper pouch to a 17 liter roll-top backpack, all accented with Portland airport carpet patterns. Fittingly, the packs and bags are handmade in Portland and have a lifetime warranty. These will likely be a limited run so if you’re looking to outfit yourself with the most iconic airport carpet around, swing over to Kickstarter and pick one up. Prices range from $22 (for the zipper sack) to $320 (for the 17 liter Kagero).Ivory BackpacksCute BackpacksPurses Bags BackpacksPurses Bags ️Bookbags BagsStylish BackpacksSchool CrochetCrochet BackpackCrochet BagsForwardThis stylish backpack is made from crocheted raffia palm trees native to Africa and Madagascar and features braided drawstrings and a magnetic button-flap closure;

If Cheryl Strayed can hoof it through the High Sierra, you can conquer this route—especially with a little bit of training and proper planning.
peli progear u105 urban laptop backpack Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, the Timberline Trail traces Hood’s snowless-in-summer flanks at about 6,000 feet and is replete with rushing waterfalls, rocky ridges, moss-covered basalt lava beds, and alpine meadows chock-full of wildflowers. Most hikers take three to five days to complete the circuit, heading clockwise from Timberline Lodge. The route isn’t without some risk, of course: there are three major and many minor stream crossings, which can be treacherous with high water and unexpected storms. And the Forest Service has yet to formally reroute a section on the peak’s north side after a flood in 2006 wiped out the creek crossing. So you’ll have to get creative.
