We shocked everyone by living together. In many ways, we grew up together. Even though the marriage didn't last, it was a lasting relationship; we had two beautiful children together. Parveen Babi: Parveen and I have shared several interests. She had a wide world view, and we shared such a close relationship that she followed me to Italy and England. This small town girl’s achievements astonished me. I feel sad when I think of the tragic way she died. Persis Khambatta: Persis came into my life when I was in Hollywood. She grounded me in a strange way, and we helped each other. We were young and in a strange country; so the companionship was more emotional than intellectual. Ixchel Susan: Hollywood was a heady, hedonistic period, with parties and lots of excesses.

Ixchel helped me centre it. She was a great influence on Pooja and Sidharth when they came to the US. Ixchel was the California experience — the best and the worst of my Hollywood days. Nikki Bedi: Nikki and I were together for 14 years. She brought back vitality; a certain curiosity about many things that I had lost interest in. She has enormous social skills and I am shy, so we complimented each other well. We were and still remain great pals. Freda Bedi: My mother had the most profound experience on me — her life spanned from being a Gandhian and a social worker to being active in rehabilitating Tibetan refugees. She sought the meaning of life and truth, and she instilled in me the love and respect for all religions. I’ve made it a little easier for those of you who need to get something for someone who loves to travel. I somehow stumbled upon this online store, , via their Instagram account, and just want to buy everything! They also have bags, guitar straps, backpacks, etc. all in gorgeous fabrics like this one. I still love the look of polaroids, they have such a cool feel to them. Tip: they’re also an awesome way to remember friends made while traveling — take a picture together and give them a copy with your contact info written on the back! This is so cool! Really convenient for when there is a lack of plugs and a surplus of sunshine! 11. Scratch Travel Journal Right before I left for Australia, a good friend gave me a journal as a going away gift — and I couldn’t be more thankful for that! I bring it everywhere with me and use it constantly. This one is extra cool because it’s travel specific!

12. 4-in-1 lens for iPhone Take your iPhone photography game to the next level with these snap on lenses! The wide angle lens is great for landscape photos! Because GoPros are awesome. Alternatively, I bought this “knock-off” GoPro and absolutely love it. It’s way cheaper (only $50 USD) and I took some seriously great pictures with it at The Great Barrier Reef. These can range from $100 up to $1000+ for the top of the line ones. Drones can take your travel photography to the next level — I’ve been seriously looking into one! Nothing is worse than getting to the airport only to realize you’re over the weight limit on your luggage. 4. Personalized Luggage Tags In the past, I’ve always just used those flimsy airport ones, but now that I’m traveling more, a high-quality luggage tag is needed. Such a lovely extra to personalize it with initials. Another cool idea for those travelers who are tight on space and need towels on the go!
