Sometimes I have to take a break from cartooning and make serious art. Of course I use the term "serious" loosely, and if we're being entirely honest here, the same probably applies to the term "art." Nevertheless, on occasion I feel the need to break out the paints and do something different just to keep the creative juices flowing. It nurtures the soul. This weekend's release manifested itself in the form of derpy videogame characters, because even when I'm making very serious art I can't seem to be very serious about it. Once upon a time I was a great fan of the Zelda series, but somewhere around the turn of the century my interest wavered. In fact, I blame Navi for most things that go wrong in my life. Peach was always top dog, but my heart belonged to Daisy. I feel like she had a dark side, you know? She was a little kinky, maybe. Peach was so vanilla. Samus was my hero as a kid, even after I found out he was a chick. I remember one Halloween I tried to make power armor out of cardboard, but I ran out of materials halfway through and went as a cowboy instead (for like the 4th time in a row).

I quit my job last week to focus on blogging full time, and while I'd like to say this will translate into lots more stories for my readers, I'm afraid I might end up utilizing my newfound freedom to catch up on videogames.I'm almost done with a new comic! Flushing DNS cache in OS X El Capitan (10.11 or later) is easily possible with a trip to the command line, though if you’ve been using Mac OS X for a while you’ll notice the syntax is different, again, from some prior releases of Mac OS.

This is because Apple has re-adopted mDNSResponder after temporarily ditching it for discoveryd, so the dscacheutil command will likely be familiar to some Mac users. This method of clearing DNS cache applies to all Macs running versions of OS X El Capitan, versioned as 10.11 or later: Open the Terminal application, found in /Applications/Utilities/ or with Spotlight At the command prompt, enter the following syntax then hit return:sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder; say DNS cache flushed Enter the admin password when requested (required by sudo) to execute the DNS cache clearing When you hear “DNS Cache flushed” you know the command has been successful* That’s it, the DNS cache will be flushed. You’ll likely want to quit and relaunch apps that are using DNS, like a web browser, for changes to carry over to apps connected to the internet. Clearing local DNS caches is commonly required by web developers, network administrators, performing accurate detailed lookups with host, and anyone who edits the hosts file, or adjusts domain name settings for faster servers or for other purposes.

If you intend on flushing DNS caches often, a simple alias placed in your appropriate .profile can be beneficial for quick future usage: alias flushdns='dscacheutil -flushcache;sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder;say flushed' Users can also cut out the say portion and split the command into several parts, though a one liner is often the easiest way to go. Then separately initiating the mDNSResponder killall command: Going this route will not provide any auditory feedback that the commands have been successful.

eso backpack vendor On June 6th, 2008, an entry for “Gnome Child” was created on the Runescape Wiki. The character did not gain a significant following online until July 2014, when discussions of the character began surfacing on the /r/2007scape subreddit. On July 21st, 2014, Redditor helofrand posted a screenshot of a Gnome Child’s portrait titled “I love gnomes” to /r/2007scape (shown below, left).

On July 25th, Redditor Cheesydude submitted a photoshopped image of a Runescape avatar wearing a Gnome Child mask and hat to /r/2007scape, where it gained over 450 votes (90% upvoted) in the first month (shown below, right). The origin of the infamous gnome face can be traced back to the early Oldschool Runescape General threads on 4chan‘s /vg/ board, also known as /rs07g/. On June 21st, 2013, a player by the name of rsmv2you (now known simply as “Rsmv”) posted a screenshot of the gnome child’s dialogue with the message “Gnomes are horrible parents”. Another player, Urotsuki, saw that the frame of animation the gnome’s face was on looked funny, and quickly cropped the face, resized it so that the height was 4000 pixels, and replied to the post with it. It was later posted again on /vg/ and other boards as a reaction image similar to this meme. Also on July 25th, Redditors began posting images of quotes attributed to Gnome Child to /r/2007scape and /r/runescape (shown below).
