The key to Kayacat's lightness, strength, stability and versatility comes firstly from the use of a core modular inflatable reinforced float system and adjustable cross struts, to which a rigid aluminium (or carbon fibre) frame is fitted that most of our APPS easily attach to. Secondly, most inflatable kayaks are made from PVC, kayacat is NOT. Instead, we use a unique triple-layer laminate system, that delivers incredible strength, rigidity, buoyancy and reliability, as well as being environmentally friendly. Kayacat has a unique modular design that combines the stability of a catamaran with a state of the art, inflatable, triple-layered-laminate float system, making all of the parts interchangeable, replaceable and adaptable. The catamaran floats make for a combined long, narrow waterline of almost 7m, which means great efficiency through the water.  An unpowered glide distance of 85m has been recorded during testing! Kayacat has a huge range of accessories (APPs), with more coming all the time.

Available APPs include the Sailing APP with packable mast, and boomless sail (it goes in the bag too!), the Slide Seat Rowing APP, fishing APPs that include rod holders, a rotating seat, and a rechargeable electric motor. There is also a Scuba Diving APP to allow for spare air-cylinders and a boarding ladder, and even an APP that will let you transport a bicycle. Many more APPs are under development. All the Kayacat models have a recommended weight capacity of 115kg seated weight, with 20kg aft and 10kg forward cargo storage (Camping equipment, bicycle, etc) When it comes to dependability, only the very best component materials will do. As such, all our Kayacat products are constructed using the strongest, most durable, materials available. KAYACAT has been in development for over two years and has been tested around the world on rivers, lakes, moderate white waters and seas. From the Hebrides in Scotland, in Tenerife in the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Pacific.

It has been taken down the river Ebro in Spain in full flood conditions, even over whirlpools, while carrying camping gear! The PUMA is for Kayaking or Stand Up Paddling, it is light and simple enough to be used by anyone, whether you are into exploring, sports, or just want to have some fun! Kayacat opens up a world of leisure activities that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Puma is incredibly light, maneuverable, and very fast for stronger paddlers, yet remains very stable in the water. Inflation takes minutes using the hand pump, and rechargeable electric pumps are available to make setting up your Kayacat even more of a breeze! All of the available, and soon to be available, APPs can be fitted to the PUMA. The PUMA pack Pledge Reward pack includes the core modular float system, Backpack, 4-piece paddle, hand pump and a widening kit for the cross struts and seat, allowing two people to paddle side by side (perfect for taking your kids out on the water) The COUGAR is our ready-to-sail out of the bag model (after inflation and assembly) .

Wider cross struts increase the distance between the floats, so you can sit sideways while sailing. And if the wind drops, just paddle home! Complete beginners have learned to sail Kayacat in less than 20 minutes!

Further APPS can be added such as attachable safety floats and a super-lightweight expanding carbon fibre seat frame! Also remember, that even though all models of Kayacat can be paddled easily, the Cougar can be set up in narrow (PUMA) mode if you prefer. The COUGAR pack Pledge Reward pack includes the core modular float system, backpack, 4-piece paddle, hand pump, sailing rig, rudder and both wide and short cross-struts (for Kayaking and SUP) A two piece paddle (as seen in the video) that can be used as a centre board/keel for serious upwind performance is no-cost option to replace the standard double-blade paddle.  We'll send out a survey to ask if you'd prefer this after the campaign. The CHEETAH is ready to go rowing. Wide cross struts are used, along with a sliding seat, foot rests, and two packable oars. The Cheetah is fast on the water, great for racing, and offers a great full body workout; ideal if you want to lose a few pounds! Why stare at the wall in the gym when you can do your workout on the water?

A foot steering system has been developed and will soon be available as an APP. The CHEETAH Pledge pack includes the core modular float system, backpack, two packable oars, hand pump, Slide Seat Rowing APP, and wide and narrow cross-struts. The Kayacat MAX includes both the Sailing APP and the Slide Seat Rowing APP in one package so you can Paddle, SUP, Sail, or Row whenever you choose! The KAYACAT MAX Pledge pack includes includes the core modular float system, backpack, 4-piece paddle, hand pump, sailing rig, rudder, two packable oars, the Slide Seat Rowing APP, and both wide and short cross-struts (for Kayaking and SUP). The Kayacat MAX includes both the Sailing APP and the Slide Seat Rowing APP in one package so you can paddle, SUP, sail, or row whenever you choose! Kayacat is every bit as good at sailing, as it is paddling, as it is at SUP and Slide Seat Rowing, or any other mode. It's up to YOU to decide how you use YOUR Kayacat as it is completely modular.

As kickstarter will not allow more than one pledge per account, we’re now adding the electric pump as an “ADD-ON”. This means that if you would like the electric pump, as well as your kayacat, simply increase your pledge amount by the cost of the pump, and we will send you a survey at the end of the campaign to see what it is you would like to add on.. Electric pump - £25 ADD-ON A rechargeable electric pump that makes inflating your kayacat a breeze. We have four standard colours available for Kickstarter Pledgers. Colours depicted above are a representation, and actual colours may vary. We will contact Backers after successful completion of our Kickstarter project, to get your preference. Our factory requires a bulk order from us to ramp up into full production, and we need some specialist tooling made for some of the fixtures and fittings. Some of the Kickstarter fund will be used for furthering our already extensive patent and design rights program, our rights will extend to all our rights and technical aspects.
