Students and teachers are finding their rhythm, with the first term having just closed, and fall sports teams are wrapping up their regular seasons. The furniture for the foyer has arrived, and our students seem to be so pleased with the new space. The new rug proclaims to all who enter that this is URSULINE ACADEMY! Whenever I walk into the building, I see students sitting, talking, sharing and laughing. Indeed, the school year is off to a wonderful start!

Dress Down Day for Brescia BallAll students are encouraged to pay $2.00 this coming Wednesday, November 2, to "dress down" to support the Brescia Ball. Each year, the proceeds from the Brescia Ball, Ursuline's largest fundraiser, help to support many of the programs and physical improvements at the school. Students are reminded of non-uniform dress standards as outlined in the student handbook: Shorts, short skirts (those that do not brush the top of the knee), excessively sheer garments, flipflops, sweatpants, strapless tops, tops with spaghetti straps, halters and bare midriffs are not permissible. From the Main Office Teacher Conferences this WeekA reminder that Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held this Thursday, November 3 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, November 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Since time does not permit all parents to meet with all teachers, please sign up with the teacher(s) whose classes you have a concern about your student’s academic progress. Conferences will be scheduled in 10 minute intervals. World Language teachers will be available in the main building. To schedule a conference for either day, we use the Pick-A-Time website. Instructions and the website link have been posted on Blackboard Engage/Edline. If a teacher's schedule is full, please contact the teacher via email. Parking Lot SafetyThe safety of our students is our most important priority. Therefore, we are asking that all parent and student drivers please drive carefully and slowly through the parking lot and at the drop-off/pick-up line. Students are walking in the parking lot to their cars or to the buses and find themselves in dangerous situations with oncoming traffic. Please be attentive and take the time to view the area before proceeding forward. We also ask that our student drivers drive slowly, especially through the neighborhood and into the parking lot.
